What is Cashmere World?   

Cashmere World is a vertically integrated business platform for the international cashmere trade.  It is a high-quality, annual meeting place for business, a catalyst for fashion trends and technology innovation, as well as a venue for the promotion of the unique qualities that make cashmere one of the world’s best-loved luxury materials.

Now preparing for the up-coming edition, to be held from 22 - 24 September 2016 in Hong Kong, Cashmere World fosters the international collaboration of cashmere professionals spanning the various sectors of this specialised industry, from raw materials to finished products, including:

Why Cashmere?  

Cashmere is a premium material, sought after by consumers worldwide for its lightweight softness, warmth and durability.  Today, it is intertwined seamlessly with the world of fashion, offering sophisticated options in a range of grades for both high-end and high-street markets.  Its mark of prestige has nonetheless been preserved. 

 

China:  Where the World of Cashmere Converges

Some 95% of the world’s supply of pure cashmere and 70% of its finished products come from China.  Thanks to its access to natural resources and sophisticated manufacturing capabilities, China is the indisputable country of choice to host Cashmere World, a global fair that promotes the productive and sustainable development of the cashmere industry.




Tracing the history of Cashmere World

Since 2010, the world’s leading international cashmere trade fair has had a brand new name: Cashmere World.  

After the success of its first two editions in 2007 and 2008 (when it was known as the China Cashmere Fair), this renaming reflects the international importance of the premium cashmere market, as well as a new partnership between CFNA and the professional fair organiser UBM, which operates 110 international events annually.  Read more about the organisers here
 
Back in 2007, 2008 and 2010, the show attracted some 200 exhibitors from major cashmere supplying countries, including Afghanistan, China, India, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Switzerland and the UK, covering up to 7,000 square metres of booth space, and displaying the full spectrum of products and services from along the entire cashmere supply chain.  Approximately 12,000 visitors from around the world, including France, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, the UK and the US, as well as representatives of buying offices and distributors in Asia and mainland China, attended the event.  Among the internationally renowned companies represented were Angelo Carillo, Angorbrizi, Beaumanoir, Bottowool, BV, California Cashmere, China Resources, Christopher R Fischer, Clariant, Dalvey, Dawson Group, DyStar, Eastmax, Edelweiss, El Corte Inglés, Erdos, Gobi, H&M, H.
